Mountain View, CA. - April 8, 2005 EGeen International announced today the ongoing expansion of its clinical development capabilities. Specifically, the company has completed an addition of physician's networks and geographical expansion from Estonia to the other Baltic States and Ukraine. The company also appointed two key additional management team members: Mr. Ants Prümmel as its General Manager of its European subsidiary and promoted Dr. Lia Loime to its Clinical Trial Lead (CTL).
EGeen is an IT-driven clinical development company that leverages (1) its proprietary clinical databases to identify potential trial participants, (2) extensive network of highly qualified medical doctors and (3) a highly cost-effective infrastructure for expeditious clinical trials. Using these assets, EGeen has been carrying out clinical trials in the areas of psychiatry and oncology areas. Over the past year, EGeen has been expanding its clinical trial network also to other major therapeutic areas. Furthermore, the company has executed a geographic expansion from Estonia to the other Baltic States and Ukraine providing the company access to patients from a population of over 55 million.
Prior to joining the company, Mr Prümmel had served as the Chief Financial Officer and subsequently as Chief Executive Officer of Levicom, a pan-Baltic telecommunications firm that was recently acquired by Tele2, a major European telecommunications corporation.
Before joining EGeen in April 2004, Dr. Loime was working as a Senior Clinical Research Associate at Paraxel International and has managed quality assurance and monitoring for numerous Phases II, III and IV clinical studies sponsored by global pharmaceutical companies. Her responsibilities include clinical trial monitoring, site evaluation and initiation, data collection and quality control review of data collected at trial sites to ensure compliance with multiple protocols and GCP guidelines.
