EGeen Announces the Expansion of Management Team
FOSTER CITY, Calif. - July 2, 2003 - /PRNewswire/ EGeen International announced today the appointments of Elizabeth S. Song, Ph.D., as its Vice President of Business Development, and Margus Annuk, M.D. Ph.D., as its Director of Clinical Development. Dr. Song brings to EGeen extensive business development and alliances management experiences in both established and emerging organizations, and will be responsible for overall business development activities of the company. Dr. Song will provide strategic direction and leadership for harnessing the unique key assets of the company. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Song was the Director of Business Development and Alliances Management at Lynx Therapeutics, responsible for initiating, negotiating and managing technology development alliances. Prior to her earlier consulting with Lynx and other biopharmaceutical companies, she was Director of Viral Research at Virologix Corporation and senior scientist at Chiron Corporation. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at The Scripps Institute and received her Ph.D. in Genetics from UC Berkeley. Dr. Annuk joined EGeen in May 2003 as the Director of Clinical Development to spearhead the clinical development operation including patient recruitment, clinical trial designs and executions. Dr. Annuk received his Ph.D. from University of Uppsala and his M.D. degree from Tartu University. He has extensive research experience in the area of renal diseases and transplantation while at the University Hospital of Uppsala University prior to returning to Estonia to become the Associate Professor and Head of the Surgical Anatomy Chair of Tartu University. He has also conducted extensive clinical investigations in the field of cardiovascular risk factors (biomarkers), and drug effects on endothelial function, malnutrition, chronic inflammation and antioxidative status.
